Kurent - korant jump
Saturday, 2nd February
Venue: Budina pri Ptuju, farm of the Prince of the Carnival II Matevž Zoki's farm, 24:00
8th Traditional Kurent - Korant Jump
Tradition has it that only at Candlemas (2nd February) Kurents - Korants can put on their bells with which they chase the winter away and call the spring, bring happiness and abundance of crops.
Events in town
The main venue for major carnival events in the town is Mestni Square. A varied daily programme for all generations and target groups ends in evenings with performances of ethnographic and carnival groups as well as Kurents.

48th International Carnival Parade
The Parade will follow the same route as last year. Numerous ethnographic and carnival groups, groups from abroad, groups consisting of employees of various enterprises, school children, pupils and students, and many others will participate in the Parade.Special guests will make this event even more interesting: 6 Pack Čukur, Fredi Miler and Rado Mulej who will have to show their knowledge of Kurent traditions in Ptuj, and pass the endurance test clad in the Kurent's outfit.
The Parade will end at approximately 16:30 and will be followed by a party in the Carnival tent and on Mestni Square.
Povorka se bo zaključila predvidoma ob 16.30, nato se bo nadaljevala zabava v karnevalski dvorani in na Mestnem trgu.
Parade Route: Potrčeva Street, Slomškova Street, Miklošičeva Street, Mestni Square, Krempljeva Street, Minoritski Square, Dravska Street, Cafova Street (past the elementary school Olga Meglič), Prešernova Street, Muzejski Square, ending in the Carnival tent in Vičava.

Pre-school children's Parade
on streets and squares of town; presentation on Mestni Square. After the Parade, a party for all participants is organised in the Carnival tent.

3rd Traditional children's Parade
Children from elementary schools in Ptuj and neighbouring villages disguised in their favourite fairy-tales heroes participate in the Parade. Once finished, a party for all participants is organised in the Carnival tent.
Parade Route: Minoritski Square, Krempljeva Street, Mestni Square, Miklošičeva Street, Slomškova Street, Slovenski Square, Prešernova Street, Muzejski Square, ending in the Carnival tent in Vičava.

Performers: musical, dancing groups, folk singers and musicians, folklore groups, brass orchestra, street theatre groups, jugglers, ethnographic groups, groups of Kurents, carnival groups.
Carnival tent in Vičava
The Carnival tent is located on the premises of the School Centre Ptuj in Vičava. During the day, the tent will host parties of pre- and school children as well as of pupils and students. On Sunday morning, and on Monday and Tuesday afternoon organised children masquerading and parties will take place in the tent.
Musical and entertainment programmes will be on in the evenings including performances of ethnographic masks and Kurent groups, and of numerous national and foreign musical guests. Programme evenings start at 20:00 and end at 01:00.
Entrance fee per person and per evening is 12 EUR, on Saturday 25 EUR including dinner. Tickets for Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are valid for the night programme in the Carnival tent Vičava (until 01:00) and for after-party programmes in the Carnival tent and discotheque Super Li.

The traditional Saturday carnival dancing including musical and entertainment programme, awards and prizes for the most original and beautiful masks, presentation of Slovenian beauty queens, and much more.
Exceptionally this year the tent will also be the venue for the switch of power between the Mayor of Ptuj, Štefan Čelan Sc. D., and the Prince of the Carnival IX - Marian Urih, who will be in charge of the town during the carnival period.

The football school Poli Drava organises a Poli party for young sports-boys and sports-girls with entertainment and prize-winning games. Special guests:Foxy teens.

Burial of the Carnival and the "atomic" finish.
Musical and entertainment programme with performances of ethnographic and Kurent groups.
Special guests: Atomik Harmonik, Skater, Boštjan Konečnik
The Carnival tent will be venue for the burial of the Carnival immediately after midnight, and the restoration of power to the Mayor of the town.
Carnival tent Super Li
The carnival tent will be placed in front of the discotheque Super Li and the Poetovio hotel. Musical and entertainment programmes will take place from 21:00 to 06:00. From 21:00 to 22:00 ethnographic and Kurent groups will perform. Every evening from 03:00 on - musical performances by national and foreign groups.
